Welcome to the Newmarket Fencing Club

Fencing is the sport of sword fighting that can trace its origins to medieval Europe. Today the sport has been described as chess while sprinting. Modern fencing is divided into three weapon categories: foil, sabre and épée, Fencing is safe, fun and challenging requiring stamina and mental fortitude from those who participate. Although fencing is a competitive sport and is part of the Olympics, anyone of all ages and fitness levels can learn and participate.

If you are interested in learning more feel free to come out to the open fencing Sunday mornings at the Magna Center in Newmarket to see some live fencing and talk to the fencers.
